In response to Emily Greenquist’s, “more office buddies”

There is something so romantic and whimsical about places being repurposed for new intentions. Reinventing. Reimagining. You are so much more than a closet.

A closet that is utilized as both an office and the entryway to the attic. An attic that is now an unannounced ecosystem to critters. Less romantic.

I've come across articles of an unknown family who used stuffed animals as a form of insulation and can't imagine the childlike wonder mixed with a dose of horror when discovered. Perhaps it was a young couple with a sledge hammer who was going to tear down a wall to make one large kitchen. Maybe they were looking to build a transom window so they can waive at one another from different rooms of the house. The first swing revealing a carnival like scene of distorted prizes, squirreled away. Pink teddy bears, round faded elephants and graying sheep staring back. Smiles static and unchanging, watching over them for years and keeping them warm.

thank you.
