I retrench from summer in secret clothing, hidden behind book-lined windows and weeds. Imagine diamond-encrusted slippers lined with alien furs traipsing across frozen rugs in dimly lit passageways made of petals. Consider hidden fans blowing sheer scarves and caftans, while a crown of braids remains perfectly in place with a single blush peony. Please remember these carefully preserved treasures and ignore that furry thing burrowing from the earth come fall.
"Secret clothing" was inspired by Katrina’s “summer skin;” I too “find summer abrasive.”
